The New Patriotic Party (NPP) family has been thrown into a state of mourning following the passing of the father of the party’s Deputy General Secretary, Alhaji Haruna Mohammed. The late Alhaji Mohammed Sualihu passed away over the weekend in the Northern Region.
In keeping with Islamic custom, the 3-day Adua (prayer) for the late Alhaji Sualihu will be held today, Sunday in Tamale. The General Secretary of the NPP, Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua (JFK), has already arrived in Tamale to join his Deputy and the bereaved family to observe the solemn ceremony and offer his condolences.
Alhaji Haruna Mohammed is widely regarded within the NPP as a calm but resolute patriot, whose humility and commitment to duty continue to inspire many within the party’s rank and file. Despite the demands of his position, he has remained steadfast, disciplined, and deeply loyal to the cause of the NPP.
Throughout his service, Alhaji Haruna has been instrumental in coordinating the party’s activities, particularly during by-elections under the current administration. His diligence, discretion, and strong teamwork with his boss, Lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong, have been pivotal in strengthening the Secretariat’s operations and maintaining unity within the party.
As the NPP fraternity joins in mourning with the family, members across the country are encouraged to remember the late Alhaji Mohammed Sualihu in prayers and to support the Deputy General Secretary and his family during this difficult moment.
